Working with Jessica was like taking a two year course on nutrition but doing so in two months. I have learned SO much about my body, about my digestive system and how it is reacting the the foods that I am eating, the topical applications that I am using, and the stress in my life.  Mostly importantly for me, I have learned about what is going on when my body has different reactions – bloating, acne, loss of energy, loss of menstrual cycles, bowel movements, etc.  I am better able to “read” what my body is telling me and be able to react to ensure that I am providing for my body’s current needs.

I initially used Glow Nutrtion to learn more about diet and its impact on Type 2 Diabetes. In our sessions, Jessica was able to explain topics in a clear, concise and easy to understand fashion that had me revamping my diet along with making the proper choices while dining out. I travel extensively for my job, so Glow was able to give me the confidence to make informed nutrition decisions while I am on the road. Jessica has changed my life as well as my family’s. I discontinued all prescription medicines and learned so much about how different foods, herbs and vitamins could replace those medicines. Jessica was able to help me work toward my goals by teaching me the basics of nutrition. The information that Jessica provided me has completely changed the way my family views food.  She encouraged me to try new foods and opened my eyes to a whole new world of foods that I didn’t even know existed! The biggest tangible change I have noticed since beginning the program has been my energy level and body awareness.  It is amazing that I now notice changes in my diet.  When I eat clean and follow Jessica’s teachings, I feel energetic, happy, and motivated.  When I fall off the wagon and am not eating good, whole foods, I feel tired, sluggish, and like I’m in a daze.

Even though my husband didn’t sit in on the sessions with Jessica, he has also changed his eating habits because I am the one who does most of the meal preparation.  He has also noticed the same changes in his body when he eats clean, compared to when he goes to McDonald’s and eats a cheeseburger.  We both feel great, as a result of adopting a new lifestyle! One of the best things is that I no longer feel like I’m living in a daze all the time.  I didn’t realize how much the food I was eating before completely controlled my energy level and my ability to focus on day to day tasks, like work or playing with my children.  I am so thankful that I now have the body awareness to notice these changes.

Jessica explains nutrition by using terms that make sense to the average, every day person.  She is passionate about her profession and is able to motivate others to adopt a more healthy lifestyle.  Jessica is also very caring and takes the time to get to know people.  Her program is not a “cookie cutter” program, and she really gears the information for what is pertinent for you to learn about.  She has been great to work with! My initial desire, working with Jessica, was to break out of my routine food choice rut. She not only helped me accomplish this goal, but opened a new world of culinary enjoyment. More importantly, she enhanced my knowledge of sound principles of nutrition. Prior to working with Jessica, I had already begun to focus on the concept of eating “real food”, but was delighted with what she taught me about the art of flavor combinations. Through her instruction, I have incorporated a greater variety of foods into my diet and learned delicious ways to prepare these foods. I have embraced the idea of “seasonal” eating, especially locally grown foods, when they are at their nutritional peak. Now days we all fall victim to the body images of the media—especially women. Within the media, fad diets and weight loss supplements are found to “cut corners” of the hard work of diet and exercise. No one really stops and wonders if maybe, just maybe, all of it is just a load of B.S.

For me, I felt very trapped by the way I ate. In high school, my mom fixed everything and whenever I ate the bad stuff, I’d just run it off in cross country. Coming into college was like throwing a toddler into a grocery store. I bought whatever I could find that would be fast and easy and taste good too. Mac and cheese was almost an everyday thing. I ate out all the time and hardly ever used the stuff I bought at the store in the first place.

This three month program was one that has completely changed my life. It made me reach far out of my comfort zone to become more educated about the things that I love. My life and relationships with people have improved dramatically since I started this process, and as a bonus, I ended up shedding a significant amount of numbers on the scale. My grades in school have sky rocketed, because I now know how to treat my body with respect by feeding it purely nutritional ingredients. If you find yourself stuck with yo-yo diets, or not seeing any results at all, ask yourself if you have treated your body with respect. Sometimes, people need more guidance in areas that they never thought they would. Make the life change for yourself, and before you know it, all things will begin to fall into place.

Coming into this program my top goals included food education, taking control of some of my bad habits as well as my family’s, and to maybe lose a little weight. Jessica educated me on the origins of both good and bad foods and explained the “why”. Since we have worked together, I have managed to stop a lot of my destructive habits and understand what makes some foods healthier than others and why that’s important. Jessica is a great teacher, fun to work with, and understands that true change comes slowly. She teaches that you have to find what works for you. I would recommend this program to everyone. Jessica provided the hands on learning I wanted to help with weight loss, and how to feel better. Before working with Jessica, my overall health was suffering. I was constantly sick. Through changing my eating habits, my health and immune system have greatly improved.  The most significant change I made was dropping 15 pounds and my appearance has improved, especially in my face. Even my eyes are brighter. Jessica is personable, relatable and always provides a positive learning environment. My top three goals upon starting the six month program were better sleep, more energy and less muscle pain. Jessica was able to help me work toward these goals by helping me understand how the body processes food and introduced me to alternate choices.
